Up in the NE it still seems like winter some days with the rain and cold cloudy skies. I'm sooooo looking forward to spring. I think they should have spring break for adults. If there was, I would wear this outfit by Language L.A. out dancing in the warm weather of some tropical paradise.
Hi Max: I thought I would check in before I leave for four days in St Malo on the north coast of France on the English Channel. Its beautiful there and we're staying at a B & B. Some of those little B&B's are pretty primitive. We travel along the coast to all the fishing villages and quaint little restaurants and shops. It's been two years since the last trip there. It's approx 400 km from Paris and the scenery is gorgeous. We don't own a car so we rented a tiny little car. It's awful!
We'll bring our own wine and picnic along the way, although the weather is not very good for that right now but, who cares. I packed a small suit case with several jlamore.com items that Jennifer sent me for the friends benefit. Thank you Jennifer!

I have hair that has gone through several different stages throughout my life... wavy, very curly, frizzy, wavy again! When it is too hot or humid outside to blow out my hair, I use Aveda Confixor. I towel dry my hair, comb it through, then work about a small palmful of the stuff from root to tip. Then I lean over and scrunch with the damp towel. (That is my trick- I seem to get better defined curls this way than if I scrunch with my hands) Then, I either let it air dry, or use a diffuser. The less manipulation of the curls until they are dry, the better!
When I checked out the Aveda website, I noticed a line I haven't tried called be curly curl control. I think I may give this product a try... though I don't know if I'll ever be able to part with the wonderful smell of the confixor!!

Amanda had blogged about how waves are in a few weeks back, and for a second I thought YES, my hair is naturally curly/wavy! My problem is, I never wear it curly because I have not found a good product to use to have 'controlled curls' rather then a frizz ball on my head. Since I'm going to Mexico next week, I was hoping to get some idea on how to wear my hair curly and have it still look good since I hear it's hard to keep hair straight with the humidity!
Any tips on products or just ideas on how to get great wavy or curly hair?? Let me know!! Also if anyone has ever been to Cancun I'd love to hear about your favorite clubs, restaurants, and just about Cancun in general!

I don't know about the rest of the country, but if LA is anything like Miami, anything goes anytime! I wear white down here in Miami all year round. Back home in Memphis, where etiquette is a big deal, I would wear white cords in the winter and never caught any grief for doing so. I think white pants with the top you mentioned would be great with a Smoky Eye! Go for it, girl! :)

Hi Max: Yes! You can wear white during those time periods. The when-to-wear-white rule died years ago! I don't think the "memo" was read by everyone. :) It's almost hard to imagine that a mystery rule like "when to wear white" is still on the minds of people. What are these ladies going to do when you show up at a party, look at their calender and then point and laugh at you because your wearing white two days before you legally can!

When can I start wearing white pants?
It seems that, as long as they're worn with the appropriate top, they can be worn pretty much year round. My Mom and a few friends seriously disagree with me though. A few of my girlfriends think they can only be worn from Memorial Day to Labor Day. My Mom says from Easter to Labor Day. Most of my white items are fairly light weight so I haven't considered wearing them yet because it's still pretty cool here. I'll be in LA for Easter weekend though and want to wear white pants to brunch. It's okay to wear them, right? I'm thinking about pairing them with the Poleci "Paisley Silk Wrap" Top. Let me know what ya'll think.

Hi Amanda and Julie: The smokey eye is a big look in Paris and it seems everyone in the fashion magazines and night clubs are into this look. I haven't tried it yet but I have to say, I really like it. Some girls wear it really smokey and others wear just a hint. I think a subtle look is better.
Now that you gals are going to try it I think I'm going to as well. What can it hurt.

A girl was in the store the other day asking about wearing the Lure "Madonna" Pocket Hoodie as a dress. I'd never thought about that, but it would be fun to try and pull off! Jess if you have time during your next model shoot you should try it out as a dress and show us how it looks. It may be a little short, but hey mini dresses are in, and who says we can't make the rules on how 'mini' it can be!

I wanted to tell everyone about a new eye shadow palette from Stila that I just tried Thursday night (I can’t totally complain about working all the time – I had a late night out with one of my best girlfriends Thursday)! For our girl’s night out, I tried a new make-up look – one that I love, but isn’t my norm…a dark, smoky eye with a glossy, nude lip. I used Stila’s Smoky Eye Palette, at my friend’s suggestion, for its claims to create the “perfect smoky eye.” It includes four shades: a light champagne, a silvery-gray, a dark-gray, and an ebony liner. I just winged-it, but it also includes both written instructions and a verbal recording with directions and tips.
We decided it lives up to its billing – with its combination of colors and easy-to-use instructions - it creates a great smoky eye. It's definitely worth having in your makeup collection.

I can't believe I forgot to include my good news: my older brother and his wife just found out they're expecting twins!!! They're due exactly 3 weeks after me. It's kind of strange to think about my big brother having a baby at the same time but we're very excited to have so many little ones running around. When all is said and done, my parents will have 7 grandbabies and they couldn't be happier!

I feel your pain, Amanda K! The "girls" just aren't what they used to be . . . I have 2 strapless bras that I really like - the IPEX by Victoria's Secret and Wacoal makes a great one that fastens in the front so it provides a very seamless look in the back. Forget the bras though, as soon as I have this next kid I'm getting a boob job :) Hope everyone is doing well and have a great weekend!

Sorry, but I just have to comment on the Sky top, also! I love it, but have a question- does anyone know of any miracle strapless bras? After breastfeeding 2 babies, my girls no longer "stand at attention" if you know what I mean. (I can't believe I'm blogging about this!) I would love a top like the Sky tops or maybe a Susana Monaco tube dress like this one, but I definitely need a supportive strapless bra that I would not be tugging up all evening. Thanks!!

Hi everyone: DA-NANG will go on the site today and its the best designs for shorts and a casual cargo pant. Too fun! A jacket by Poleci is "catwalk" worthy and I will have to get one for myself and that hardly ever happens because YOU come first and YOU are always my size. I never get anything. Like my husband always says, "you have a house full of nothing to wear. . . " What's up with that! I get tired of hearing that. :)
Good news for those of us who live in humid climates! An article in the Miami Herald today titled "Curls have suddenly gone to our heads" states, "Bounce and volume are the new buzzwords, replacing sleek and straight." Hurray! I play heck trying to straighten my hair, especially in Miami. So, put away those straight-irons, ladies, and let your curls bounce away!

I really don't care about sports much, but when I do sit down and watch them I get way into it. It was a sad weekend for the Badgers (they lost to UNLC... or some team with a name like that, on Saturday.) Anyways, just had to mourn a little over their loss. Luckily, it didn't mess up my bracket too bad. Yes I did fill out a bracket even with my knowing nothing about college basketball. It's always the ones that don't know what they're talking about that win! Well, not totally true, but we can always hope for some of those crazy upsets that no sports fanatic man would even think about putting down :) Is anyone else in a pool? This past year belts hit the fashion world like never seen before. The rise of the popularity of belts has changed the look fashion and what people are wearing. But lets get back to the basics.
