One Last Thing!

When I was getting my hair done the other day my stylist told me about that airbrush tan where an actual person does it for you. I think that Max and Amanda had mentioned it before, but I had never found a place here in Madison. At Oasis Day Spa (located in Princeton Club West), they have the 'airbrush tan' service where they do it for you for only $25 or 5/for $100. I know you guys on here who have done it loved the results, and my hairdresser told me she does, too! She said you look like you just got back from a vacation, and no where near orange and streaky. I've got to try it!

I've been reading way way way too much about skin cancer risks lately, and I admit... I'm a fake baker! I have heard that even if you go as minimally as I do it's still so so bad and your risk for skin cancer is very high (well, duh, I think I always knew this- just didn't want to admit it!), so this sounds like a great alternative!!

Laquette "White Burnout Racer" Tank

Here's a picture of me and my girlfriends from the weekend at my friend Amy's House. You would think she lives out in the country with that beautiful cornfield in the background. But nope, she lives right by a well developed neighborhood and a few Shopping Centers (Don't you just love Wisconsin?)

The point of this picture is to show off my new Laquette "White Burnout Racer" Tank. I love it with black and brown leggings or my Allen B Jeans. This top has been in the store a few weeks now, but is still making it's way up on the site. J. LaMore's been busy preparing for the Anniversary Party coming up this Thursday, so we'll have to be patient :)

I have this style in a top and I LOVE it! The pleats are so cute, and comfortable!! This would be fun to wear on a casual night out with some simple heels, or during the day with flip flops. Max, this would be a great dress for a pregnant gal!

New Greek and Roman Galleries

For those that live in the NY area or visiting the city should check out the new gallery at the Met Museum - New Greek and Roman Galleries. The opening of the new Hellenistic, Etruscan, and Roman galleries—an entire wing housing over 5,300 objects in more than 30,000 square feet—completes the reconstruction and reinstallation of the permanent galleries of Greek and Roman art. It's receiving RAVE reviews. Even though I've never been to the museum, I'm a huge fan and love to read about the exhibits and galleries. If anyone gets to go, please let me know your thoughts.

Birthday Night Out

Hello, everyone!

Yes, my husband and I did have a date Sunday night to celebrate our upcoming birthday (we share the same birthday). We went to our all-time favorite restaurant, as I've mentioned before, Nobu. The food was FAN-TAS-TIC, as usual. We never order from the menu; rather, we tell our server what we like and don't like and he takes it from there, bringing us several different courses to share. The conversation was great, as well, considering we didn't have a 4 or 1-year old constantly interrupting! My mouth is watering just thinking about the food.(for example, the first course was tuna sashimi served on a potato chip with a yummy sauce on top) I wore my new Susana Monaco "Gather String Halter" Dress, and truly felt that I fit in with "the beautiful people" that populate South Beach. (I'm sure you could find plenty of models down here, Jennifer!) Anyway, if you get the chance, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone travelling here or to Nobu Matsuhisu's other restaurant locations across the country (and world)- the man is truly a genius with Japanese cuisine.

New Arrivals & Site Update!

Hello friends! We have more new arrivals coming to the site in a few days. We have to do a re-shoot on some of them as I was not happy with the final images.

We have been working hard on the new "lookbook" that has a launch date of May 7th. It's so exciting to finally see it completed! It's very cool!

We have also been working on finding help for Jessica. Interviews and test shoots for models to include our web catalogue and the on location "lookbook" is time consuming.

The J. LaMore 8th anniversary party is May 3rd. All subscribers will get a special note in the mail so make sure you watch for it.

Trapeze-Style Dresses

Like most of the country, NYC is finally enjoying some great spring weather! At dinner last night with five girlfriends, three of us were wearing one of the trapeze-style dresses that are so hot right now - either in a great print or a bold color. ...So much fun to have so much "spring" out last night! My great friend Tanya was wearing one of the ABS dresses from J. LaMore - she paired it with a sleek black pump and a slim black clutch - simple and stunning.

I really think this Susana Monaco dress would be perfect on you! I love the color combination, rich paprika red with navy and white accents. It is so gorgeous in person! The high waist style of this dress will allow you to wear this as your belly expands, so perfect. Dress Help

My daughter's baptism is the 2nd week of June and I need help selecting a dress. As ya'll know, I'm pregnant but I haven't gained a ton of weight yet so I can get away with an empire waist. The mod dresses don't look so great on me b/c of my build but I'm open to other suggestions. Whatever dress I go with I have to be able to wear a sweater or something to cover my shoulders. Amazing what I can accomplish in 2 hours without a baby to carry around. I had a babysitter this afteroon so I could tackle a few tricky errands without Hollis. I was able to complete more things in 2 hours than I could in 2 days in a normal week. What am I going to do with 2 kids - YIKES!

On another note, I love the story about Shane. He's such a cutey! I just mailed a stack of cards to him so I hope it helps his cause. He and Hollis share the same birthday so it was extra fun to pick out his cards.

Speaking of birthdays, I'm just starting to plan Hollis' first party so if ya'll have any fun ideas, please share. I've only been to a few kiddie parties so this is new territory for me.

I hope you all are doing well...sounds like everyone is busy, busy, busy! Me too! We are getting in so much new product, I am having difficulty finding places to put it on our sales floor! I love this problem!! Everything looks incredible. We just received new shipments from Kablan, Bailey 44, Sky, and Sheri Bodell. I think everyone is going to flip out when you see these incredible dresses from Kablan. They are absolutely beautiful.

I have to mention that this Karan sandal from Cindy Says has been one of our top sellers so far this week. The color of this shoe in the photo is a little dark. The true color of the sandal is a gorgeous, shimmery pewter. A fabulous color that seems to look both gold and silver...the perfect shade to wear with everything. I highly recommend the Karan sandal!

Ok, everyone, those of you that I know personally love to cook, so here is one more recipe for today that is easy on the wallet, waistline, and clock! I made this tonight and couldn't believe how good it was! I found the recipe in the April 2007 edition of Real Simple magazine- it is Roast Pork and Asparagus with Mustard Vinaigrette. Enjoy!

Julie- I have the 575 "Boy Cut Capris" and I reach for them almost every other day! They are ultra comfy (like a pair of sweats) and very flattering. I can't believe they're not gone- and I can't believe the price of them now!

As I was just browsing through the sale items, I noticed that the 575 "Boy Cut Capri" is still available in size 28,30, and 31... and for only $60! 575 is tied as one my favorite jean brands (along with Allen B), and these are so perfect for spring. They'd look SO cute with the Cindy Says "Beck" Wedge and brown or nude colored top. The Cindy Says wedges will also be so cute matched with any of the Liz Palacio jewelry items. Hi Girls

Gosh, I feel so out of touch! April has been a busy month for our family and I'm dragging as I try to catch up on everything. Sounds like everyone is doing well (aside from it being tax day - yuck!). I was in LA visiting family for Easter and making some minor repairs to our rental house and then in Memphis for family events. Both were fun but Memphis will always take the cake - nothing like being home with Mom and Dad (and Amanda's Mom and Dad). I'll post some pics of the trips soon.

I didn't have time before my 2nd trip to update ya'll on my tanning experience. I LOVED the airbrushed tan. I took very good care of it by applying tons of lotion and I'm happy to report that it lasted about 12 days.

As for Amanda K's pizza idea - yummy! A good friend here in Reno recently had a pizza party. She purchased the dough and the toppings for one pizza and then each family that attended brought toppings and made a pizza for the group. When all was said and done we had 4 very unique and delicious pizzas. Since we saved money on dinner, we splurged by opening some Eagle's Trace wine. I only tasted the wine but ate my weight in pizzas!!

I have lots to chat about this week but I have a crying baby so I'll check in later.

Tax Day!

Amanda K: Sounds like a great idea! (And inexpensive is key on today of all days!) I don't know about everyone else, but I owed this year and cringed as I wrote my check to the IRS! I obviously waited until the final day to send Uncle Sam my hard-earned money. I joked to a friend that I'd at least be fashionable sitting in "debtor's prison" (haha) after spending the IRS's money on a closet full of beautiful clothes! (Amanda K, maybe I can come to your place for a slice?!) :)

Easy, Inexpensive Entertaining

I've discovered, thanks to a friend, an easy, inexpensive, and delicious entertaining idea. Did you know that you can buy pizza dough from your local pizzeria for $2-$3? For last minute get-togethers, my husband and I buy 2-3 doughs from our favorite pizzeria, then do the following:
-brush some olive oil on cookie sheets
-press dough onto cookie sheets
-spread jarred spaghetti sauce to within 1 inch of edges
-sprinkle your favorite toppings (we like mozzarella cheese, italian sausage, and pancetta)
-bake in 375 degree oven for 15-20min
The result is a delicious, hot, homemade pizza with a pizzeria-quality crust! Open a bag of salad and a bottle of red wine (or two..ok, or three), and you've got yourself a pizza party!

I don't know about anyone else, but when it comes to food... I love it! On my flight home I was reading Glamour Magazine and saw one of those "eat this... or eat all of this!" columns. I looked on the website and it's so crazy to see some of these. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you can check them it out here. Just thought this was something interesting to share- and a good lesson!

Since I'm a big snacker, this one caught my eye-

Hello gals and visitors: AmandaK in Miami is absolutely correct about a great pair of jeans. I just did a radio interview with Kathleen Slattery Moschkau and we spoke about that very thing as well as "shopping often" and "buying occasionally" and only "buy what you love." The radio broadcast was in Washington DC and other metropolitan areas too. You can also listen to the show on the Internet. It was so much fun.

Kathleen Slattery Moschkau was the director of the film "Side Effects" of which three scenes were shot on location at J. LaMore. I played a "huge" role with my good friend Katherine Heigl from Greys Anatomy. (By huge I mean I played a store clerk for three scenes.) :) :)

But Amanda is correct! Good jeans last a long time and they stay in style and they make you feel and look great. . . So, save the money and "invest" in a great pair. We just received some Antik Denim jeans in today that will go on the site thursday. Now that's a big name in denim. Our denim brands are expanding every month.

Save Money- Buy Great Jeans

The other day, I was telling a friend of mine my philosophy on jeans. She had asked me, "Why spend more than $100-$200 on jeans?" My answer: A good pair of jeans is an investment! You can dress them up, dress them down, wash them countless times, use and abuse them. Why buy cheap jeans that don't fit quite right, and won't last past a season or two? Viva Las Vegas

Hope everyone had a nice weekend and a nice Easter. Julie, it looks like Cancun was a blast!

My boyfriend and I had a great time in Las Vegas! I have to report that the Lure Dynamite Short Jumper was the perfect outfit at the clubs - super trendy but not over the top. I wore it with 4-inch silver sandals, a silver clutch, and big silver earrings. A total hit with my boyfriend and everyone else... received compliments from the girls and an 'extra look' from the boys! (The perfect combination, right)! :) Jennifer, thanks for sending it direct to the hotel at the last minute - it was definitely worth the expedited shipping!!!

I also dressed up the Susana Monaco Swiss Dot Halter Dress with the same silver shoes and clutch for a dinner one night. I had expected to wear it casually during the day, but it worked great for evening too!

I should add that the Pink Polkadot Leopard Top was the ideal bikini cover-up. The pool at the Hard Rock Hotel (where we stayed) draws a young, trendy crowd, and the top looked great over both my black bikini and bright fuschia bikini. With wedge sandals, it was a great minidress for drinks at the pool-side bar.

I just wanted to put up a few pics from my trip, so I thought I'd put them all in one blog to save room :)!

From left to right... we went out to dinner at Margaritaville and they had a dancing shark running around, and of course he picked me of all people to 'bite my head'- haha!

The 2nd one is my and my girlfriends drinking in the lobby of our hotel- that was a nightly routine before we went out to the clubs.

The 3rd and 4th pics were on our 2nd to last night before we went out to Senor Frogs, my favorite club of all!

Finally back!

That was the longest, but the most fun week I have ever had!! Cancun was beautiful, 85 degrees and sunny everyday. The clubs were definitely a hit or miss, but we were lucky with the ones we choose to go to. I had a blast and would go back in a heart beat! I feel very out of it though, especially coming back to 30 degree weather- I thought it was spring!!

Heres a picture of me and my girlfriends that I went with. I saved my Bailey 44 "Pleated White Top" for the last night so I could show off my tan :)! All my friends loved it and I even got compliments from random people, too!

Hi Jennifer & Friends: I'm so happy to see some sandals and shoes come to jlamore.com. I am a shoe crazy woman and I love this slingback by Cindy Says. I'm only 5'3" so I need a little height and a platform wedge is perfect.

This shoe is adorable! I love it!

I also love the Boutique 58 that Lynn just wrote about. It would be a tough choice for me between the black or the ivory color. I think the ivory would be great with jeans.
