New Lookbook & Model

Hi Everyone! All of us at J. LaMore would like to thank Frida's Mexican Grill on State Street for allowing us to produce our latest fashion lookbook for you viewing and shopping pleasure.

The staff at Frida's was the best and allowed us free reign to every part of the restaurant until we were done. We even corralled one of the waiters and strategically placed him in a picture with our model. It was a great way to spend a few hours. Thanks again Frida's! (Mandy and I really wanted a big Margarita)

Also, we would like to introduce Sophia, our newest model to the website who was a such treat to work with and was so much fun.

Take a look!

Absolutely the Best Lookbook Yet.

I am truly amazed every single time I look at a new J. LaMore lookbook album. Every single one is better than the next, and they are all absolutely fantastic! This secret garden themed lookbook shoot is stunning. Paige is a not only a great model, but she is also beautiful! The clothes look great, and the location is so perfect. 2 big big big thumbs up guys!!

I've been in Australia for 2 and a half months and I'm still loving every minute of it. The fashion here is pretty great! Next week is Australia's fashion week. Never heard of it? Neither had I, and although we don't often hear of great designers coming from Australia, I can assure you that there are many fabulous hidden gems!

What I love about the fashion here is that women aren't afraid to flaunt super trendy pieces. I feel that sometimes fashion in the states is a bit more reserved and women tend not to try trend items in the fear of being too out there and too much of a slave to the trends. Although I agree that it's never good to only wear what's hot at the moment, I do like that women here are more willing to try bold trend pieces that you wouldn't normal see on the city streets.

This cover of Australia Vogue is from last July, but I just wanted to show that trendy styles like this are seen on the streets everyday and every where you look! It's as if magazine covers have come to life. Or as if there are "heaps" (as they say) of women who are as trendy as Jennifer on every street corner. I love it!

I'm planning on writing a post of Aussie Lingo soon so stay tuned :)!

New Lookbook: From Russia With Love

As the creative mind behind the lookbook at J. LaMore, I am constantly being inspired by the clothes we get in. When I saw the Flavio Castellani coats I knew they were something special and I wanted to do something interesting with them for the lookbook. I had a few ideas bouncing around in my head, but J. LaMore friend and blogger, Sarah, gave me some great inspiration when she mentioned that the coats looked straight out of the Bond movie, "From Russia with Love". It was the perfect concept because the coats totally embody the glamourous "Bond Girl" aura with a little Russian flair. Our model, Allison, portrayed the look perfectly.

I wanted to give her a little shout-out for inspiring me, so thanks Sarah!

I hope everyone enjoys the latest lookbook and has a great Thanksgiving!

Holiday Hair Pieces inspired by the J. LaMore Lookbook

Are you looking for an easy way to add a festive flair to your holiday outfit? We have plenty ideas for you in the new "Holiday '09" lookbook.

As you may know, whimsical hairpieces and headbands are very trendy right now and are also a perfect touch for the holiday season. Some hairpieces sold in stores can be a little pricey, so here are some do-it-yourself ideas that will save you some money and give you a unique look:

1) Ribbon. Buy a 1.5-2" spool at your local craft store and fashion it into an exaggerated bow. You can pick through different patterns and fabrics to get the look you want: red satin, plaid or glittery are some options. You'll look like a cute, giant present!

2) Gift bows. You can buy standard stick-on bows, curly ribbon clusters, or even specialty bows made out of fabric strips (as pictured below) for $1-3 at places like Target or Michaels. Anchor them on a headband or simply fasten them into your hair with bobby pins. They would also look cute pinned into an updo. Be creative! Choose something unexpected and make the look all your own.

3) Tulle or Lace. If you buy a little bit of fabric, you can make a head wrap or even a fabric flower hair piece... or both! You could even try braiding the fabric into your hair, a hair trend currently seen on some runways. People will be asking where you got such a unique accessory!
The holidays are a time to have fun, so don't be afraid to spice up your outfit with a fun hairpiece. You can also play with hoisery options, like fun tights or fishnets, to add a little flair to your look. Take a peak at the lookbook to get some ideas...

Loving the LOOKBOOK

I'm a huge fan of the J.LaMore LOOKBOOK. I always look forward to its updates to see what outfits the stylist have put together, and I often copy them :) I love the new urban feeling of the newest LOOKBOOK. It's right up my alley :) Thanks for all the great outfit ideas!

Kalyn, I agree...I'm lovin' the Lookbook right now. The "Runway" to "Our Way" segments are great. In fact, I loved that first outfit SO MUCH, I just bought the entire look! Both pieces, the black leather jacket and the silver brocade dress, will stand on their own. I can't wait to pair the jacket with sexy jeans and a top, and even pair the dress with a sweet cardi and pearls.
