The "Real Winner" . . . !

Hi Jennifer and Gang! I was glued to the TV last night and watched the best closing of an American Idol season that I have ever seen only to be crushed when all of us learned that Crystal Bowersox didn't win. I was shocked!

In my opinion, and I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, Bowersox was far better than DeWyze in every area of music (voice, range, style, stage presence, etc.) and I think everyone else could see and hear it as well. That being said, how did she lose?

Some of my friends think that people followed the Simon Cowel's winking and general nod of approval for DeWyze that defeated Bowersox. I completely disagree with that and think that it was that Bowersox has a "look" that is unappealing to the voting masses of young girls. The hair, the hideous tattoo on her back and her overall appearance just wasn't good enough. One of my male friends said that if Crystal Bowersox looked liked Faith Hill it would have been a no-brainer. That's how Casey James hung around so long. It became a beauty contest and if you had to chose between DeWyze or Bowersox, DeWyze is an easy choice.

Hmmmmm. . . . ! Bowerxox is an amazing singer and I only occasionally liked DeWyze so I am sad that she was beaten and disappointed if she was defeated because she isn't pretty enough.

Wow!. . . David Cook Wins!

David Cook is the new American Idol! Amazing! And, he wins by 12,000,000 votes. That's like, . . . huge. I thought it would have been David Archuleta based on the comments by Simon and the other two judges but David Cook came back and won decisively.

I have to say that last night when Simon picked Archuleta as the winner and that he beat Cook by all three songs, I was thinking how wrong it was for Simon to say that. I thought that as it got to the last two, he should not be so positive one would win and the other would lose. But tonight Simon apologized for his comments before the winner was announced. I wonder if he knew who won or if he really felt bad for saying what he said.

Listening to the other contestants tonight who we're previously voted off was painful except Jason Castro when he sang "Hallelujah". It was the only song he sang good in my opinion and it was amazing.

I'm glad to see that ZZ Top hasn't changed a thing in 200 years.

Oh well! I have to go and console my niece who I'm sure is very upset. I think at some point it had to come down to talent and who had more of it. Bring on "So you think you can dance."

David Archuleta is the winner . . . !

David Archuleta was the overwhelming winner in the American Idol competition tonight! I thought David Cook would be strong but his last two songs were kind of dull and as Simon always says. "forgettable".

Paula was a goofy and sappy as ever and Simon was actually OK! It is the last night of judging though, so how else could he be.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the new dance show this Thursday. The previews look fun.

Hi Jennifer: I just got my card in the mail today. Thanks and happy 9th annivesary for J. LaMore.

Welcome Mandy!

I've never been to Greece, but I wold sure love to go. How lucky are both of you guys! I never seem to get out of LA to go anywhere.

All of us American Idol gals from work are getting together tonight for the grand finale. I know the winner is announced Wednesday but all of us couldn't get together then so tonight is just as good!

My money is on David Cook to win it all! I think the fan base element isn't as much of a factor now but just in case, I will check with my young niece to see what she has to say.

Tonight I'm going to wear my little Susana Monaco dress that I absolutely adore. (I think I look really hot in this dress if I don't say so myself. ;-))
Ta ta for now!

By the way Jennifer! I've never seen "Spamalot" but I would sure go if I had the chance based on your review! I'm so glad you had fun!

"Fever". . . . ? Ughh!

Hi everyone: Syesha Mercado had her "last" performance on American Idol last night. She sung "Fever" and Simon called a bad cabaret performance and I had to agree. When she was winking and doing her leggy thing around the single chair on the stage I was almost embarrassed for her. She looks fantastic, but I thought it was bad. It kind of reminded me of Liza Minnelli and it would have been is she had the boler hat.

Speaking of Sysesha, what's with the hokey hipster/southern accent she suddenly started using. Keep it real girlfriend!

David Archuleta sang one good song in my opinion and the song he sang when he was dancing around the stage was hilarious. He needs some dance lessons as he is awful when he tried to be hip and sing younger songs. He moves like my old boyfriend. Yikes!
But the real show stopper was David Cook's "The first time ever I saw your face" made famous by Roberta Flack. Amazing! I love that song and he did a great job with it.
It should be interesting tonight to see what happens but my guess is. . . . . . . Goodbye Syesha!

American Idol . . . tonight!

Hi everyone: It's Idol night and the latest news is that David Archuleta's dad (pictured on the left. Mom in the middle) has been banned from the rehearsal set. Apparently he's a "stage dad" and has been demanding and uncompromising. Go figure. He also demanded that David be allowed to change a line in a song he is going to sing tonight causing the shows producer to spend a ton of money to obtain rights to the song. Nice going! At least the Jason Castro fiasco is over. Whew!

It's winding down and next week is the finale'. Tonight they have to sing three songs and I hope that David Archuleta sings something besides the same old song he's been singing. He's good, but mix it up a little. Maybe we should ask daddy about that!
Hi Jennifer: Nice jet! I was sad to read it was a joke as I wanted to say to all my friends that I have a good friend who has a jet! Bummer! I was hoping for a ride sometime when you come to LA.

"Don't Vote" . . . Jason Castro

Jason Castro got voted off American Idol (thank God) and from all the news surrounding his send off, Jason apparently asked to be voted off. When Ryan Seacrest was calling out the telephone numbers to the audience, Jason was seen mouthing the words "don't vote" behind Ryans back. Whats up with that. He can play hacky-sack, eat munchies, and butcher old classics on his own time now because he's gone! Finally!

What a shame to have wasted the time and talent of some of the other contestants who really wanted to be there when he clearly did not.

Oh well! If you ask me its now down to the two David's and it's a tough call at this point.

Lynn LA, CA

Welcome Michaela. It's nice to see you on the blog.

Wow!. . . Simon was cruel!

I can hardly blame Simon, though. It's down to the wire and Jason Castro was horrific. He should just quit. He deserves to be blasted like that. How he made it this far is beyond me. . I know! I know! Fan Base! I honestly believe that I could sing better then that. I'm serious! If the "fan base" supports him tonight and someone else gets voted off, I'm with Lynn when I say that I will never watch it again.

Syesha was great and gorgeous! I didn't care for the Proud Mary song but I like her on stage and think her crying at the end showed true feelings. I like her more and more. She will stay because not even the fan base that Lynn talks about can save Jason Castro. Not that he cares on way or another.

David Cook was just "OK". Nothing special although he is talented.

David Archuleta is just too cute! I love him! The fan base that Jason has will move over to him after tonight!

Paula was even awake for the show. Wow! She is a little to weird at times especially when they show her dancing between Randy and Simon.
It should be fun to watch the drama tonight. I think the crowd doesn't like Simon and if he's really critical of a singer it gives more of an incentive to vote for him. I could be wrong but only time will tell.

Jason "pack your suitcase"

OMG! I want to make it known to all the fans who watch American Idol that if Jason Castro is kept on the show then I will never watch the show again! Period! His performance was so bad it was shocking and a complete embarrassment. It would help, Jason, if you could remember the lyrics to the song. What do you think? Huh! Maybe! You're killing me here!

He doesn't want to be there and he doesn't care on way or another. Give him the boot! The only bad thing about voting him off is that we will have to listen to him sing his last song again while saying goodbye! Ouch!

Simon told David Archuleta who followed Jason that " . . . you could have stood there and whistled and been better then the last performance. . . " Wow! Ker-Pow right in the kisser.

Even "Space Cadet" Paula said his performances were bad. Now after all that and he still is voted back. I quit!

Lynn LA, CA

I had to update my last post after reading the hundreds of blogs and reports on last night's Idol. MTV has a thought about Jason Castro that I find unbelievable. They believe that Jason and his "who cares" attitude is all planned and that it's part of the culture he's trying to win fans and support from. They think he's the only contestant who's being real. That's a stretch if you ask me. I guess you have to write about something.

Oh, by the way. My little niece still loves him and voted for him. Syesha could be in trouble.

Vanity Fair & Miley Cyrus

Vanity Fair sure got some press the past few weeks on the Miley Cyrus "scandal". It must have been a slow news week for the media because I have no idea what all the fuss was about. I saw the pictures and they we're tame to me. She's 15 years old and a teen sensation and is mature beyond her years. Besides, it was Annie Liebowitz who took the pictures. She's fantastic and if she called me up and said "I want to take some pictures of you. . . " I'm there!

Apparently, Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears are in re-hab or something because the media needed someone young to write about and this is all they could come up with. Borrrrrinnnng!

Anyway Jennifer, I'm looking forward to watching American Idol tonight especially sine the theme is Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. It should be great.

I want to mention that I went to a Kentucky Derby party on Saturday with a large group of friends as well people I didn't know. It was great fun until the actual race itself. When "Eight Bells" broke it's legs and died on the track the entire crowd was sickened and sad. When I got in my car after the party I broke down and cried. I felt so terrible and heart broken. I am still sad over it. I will never watch another horse race again.

P.S.

Nice job on the FREE SHIPPING Jennifer. I love it.

Bye Brooke. . . Sorry!

Hi Lynn: I completly agree with your assesment of Jason Castro. He's terrible! I love Brooke but I never thought she was all that great and I think she needed to get voted off. She wore adorable clothes though! Somehow that's important. :)
As long as I'm on he subject, Jennifer, I really love this dress and my size is gone now. That always happens to me. You also have tons of new stuff on the site. Good job. I love all the Susana Monaco stuff.

Please, please, please can you order that dress for me in a small. I don't think the x-small will fit me. I also see you some some new bags. Love this one.
I guess I was out of touch for a couple of days and I missed all the juicy gossip.
By the way. Did you here that Ashley Simpson sold like ten albums from her new CD and a comedy album beat her in sales. OMG! How embarrassing is that!
Clare London, Eng.

Brooke's gone. . . Jason you're next!

Brooke "weepy" White is voted off American Idol and I personally think it's unfair. I have to say her constant crying and sobbing was getting old for me, but I still like her. She wasn't going to win the whole thing, but she's ten times better then Jason Castro who could care less he's even there. We're back to the fan base again problem again.

Brooke's problem is American Idol itself. She's not a pop star. She 's not even a country singer. She's kind of a Kim Carnes voice with a Carol King song style and mix with little or no stage presence. But I like her voice. She's adorable (except for all the crying). The word on the blogs is that she will be a great children's singer. Hmm! Ok! I'm not sure what that is.

Jason Castro gave a pathetic performance the other night but it's more then obvious all the young girls in the audience love him and will vote 100 times for him no matter how bad he sings. He's not a pop star either but probably more so then Brooke.

It's really down to the two David's now and I think David Cook is the new American Idol. He already looks like a pop star and has the stage presence in Ace's over David Archuleta.

I'm going out on a limb here, again. Syesha is gone next week and then Jason only because of the "fan base" and David Cook wins it all. At some point it has to come down to talent. I just has to. I think!

Oh my. . . Paula!

Hi everyone: I have to agree with all the buzz around the Internet about Paula Abdul. She should be voted off the show right along with Jason Casto. Jason doesn't care he's even there. He so dumb too! He says he singing the wrong lyrics for the song he chose right in front of Neil Diamond. OMG are you kidding me? Why would he admit that to the world.
Simon is right, he sounds like a college kid strumming his guitar and singing in his dorm room. Give him the boot. At least Brooke who is up and down in her performances is really trying. She may not win but she's trying. I can hardly wait until tonight to see who gets voted off with Paula. :)
By the way, I really like that Alice & Trixie 'Flirt' dress and the 3 J Workshop "Budapest" Tunic Dress. Too cute!
So long from London, England.
Clare London, ENG

Oh No Paula

I knew when I looked online today there would be so many jokes about Paula Abdul's slip up last night. I agree with you Lynn about voting her off! This is live tv you can't have someone like Paula on who is always making weird comments that don't make any sense to anyone.
I was embarrassed for Paula and in her defense I heard on the radio that the judges hear the songs before they go live, so she actually did hear his second song.
At least it makes the show that much more interesting to watch.

Paula should be voted off!

Is it just me or does anyone else think Paula Abdul should be voted of American Idol. I didn't understand one thing she was saying tonight and when she speaks I want to throw my wine glass at the TV.

She is either completely insane or drunk and let's get a rally going to have her and Jason Castro voted off the show.
Jason Castro's performance was awful. Just plain awful.. . . . . He needs to go, and quick.

Idol Shocker. . . ! Goodbye Carly!

Ok! Ok! Ok! All my friends at work will say to me "I told you so". I now have to give in to the power of the "fan base". It's either that or I'm tone deaf and need to see a doctor.

How Jason Castro didn't make it to the bottom "two" last night is all based on his fan base. That can be the only explanation because there is NO comparison between him and Carly Smithson. Not even close! None what-so-ever! Don't even try!
Carly got the boot! Why you ask? Fan base! Carly didn't have it and Jason does. At this stage it appears that talent has nothing to do with winning anymore. Carly has a creepoid-tattoo-faced husband (who they keep showing in the audience which cannot be good for the young Idol watchers) and Jason is a young single boy who all the girls love. (Even with the dread locks.) Hmmmm! Can we all say "fan base!"

Jason, who I believe, could care less whether he wins or not was even shocked he was safe last night. Even Brooke was shocked. People love Brooke. She's sweet, but weepy and adorable and all of us can forgive a big mistake.

Latest news from the LA Times: After Brooke was pronounced "safe" by Ryan Seacrest, she ran to the couch as the show went to commercial and laid faced down on the couch sobbing uncontrollably. It was so bad that Paula Abdul walked onto the stage to comfort her. Meanwhile, Syesha turned her back to the crowd and cried as well. Can Brooke be more needier? C'mon!
Syesha has to be thinking - "I sang my heart out and I'm still in the chairs." Fan Base!
Next week it's Neil Diamond songs and I will have to give up my predictions until I consult my 13 year old niece.

American Idol

Idol was a little disappointing for me last night. I didn't like too many performances. Although, Randy was right when he told David Archuleta his song was the "bomb" I could'nt agree more. Give him any song and he will blow it out of the water. Overall, I think both Davids are going to be on top.

I agree with you Lynn, I think Brooke, Jason and Syesha will be in the bottom three.

Amy

Brooke, . . Noooooo!

Oh Brooke! What happened! I'm crushed that Brooke White stumbled on the first few words of her Andrew Lloyd Webber song "You must love me" and had to tell the conductor to start over. I was stunned! But then, she came back strong and the song was breathtaking. She did a fantastic job with it.

However, (drama) Simon and Randy didn't care for it that much and Bimbo Abdul told her she should never start over but just keep singing through the mistake. I completely disagree with that advice. Even Randy and Simon said she did the right thing by starting over. At least Brooke didn't break down and cry but, her lip did quiver a little.

I feel that Brooke will be in the bottom three for sure and will probably be voted off tonight. There is hope for her, though. Jason Castro sang the song "Memory" from Cats and it was awful! Even Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber thought it was a bad choice and he has never hear a male sing that song. Randy called it a "train wreck" and Simon said "it was the longest two minutes of my life." Jason had never heard the song before and didn't know that it was sung by a female cat in the play "Cats". Wow! I must be really old.

The highlight of the evening was listening to 'Sir Andrew' teach and talk to the contestants. Amazing! What a talent he is and so interesting to listen too.

Carly Smithson had a great performance of Jesus Christ Superstar. I loved it. What I really thought was interesting was when 'Sir Andrew' told her not to sing the song she wanted to sing and switch to 'Superstar'. How can Simon and Randy say it was a bad song choice when Andrew Lloyd Webber tells her to sing it. Good call and it was great.

David Archuleta and David Cook we're really good too! Syesha Mercado was, well, . . . forgetable. She looks fantastic but her range in singing is not good. The judges liked her but I'm still a hold out.

My picks for the bottom three are: Brooke, Jason and Syesha. Brooke gets the hook.

Kristy's gone. . . Brooke bumbs me out!

Hi everyone: Kristy's gone and I have to say, I feel kinda bad about it. I don't think she's that great but she's not that bad either. For the longest time she was driving me crazy but now, I think I'm going to miss her. Knowing that she's gone is just one step closer to Brooke being voted off! Brooke is such a whinny weepy little thing. Crying all the time is not helping her and she cannot take any form of criticism whatsoever. Now she is the one who's driving me crazy and the next Idol voted off and now I can hardly wait. Kristy was tougher and faced the criticism ten times better then "weepy".

That's officially my new name for Brooke.

That Mariah Carey song was hot! I loved it and can hardly wait to down load it on Itunes.

Kisty Lee should go!

Hi Jennifer and everyone: I found this very funny picture of Kristy Lee Cook on the TMZ. The TMZ knows all and I get tons of gossipy good stuff from the them.

Check this out! Nice hair! I agree with all of you that the boys kicked the girls butt this week. I am so hooked on this show and its getting fun to watch and see what happens as it get closer to the end. Kristy Lee Cook should get voted off. She's hung around far too long with average talent.
