Brooke, . . Noooooo!
Oh Brooke! What happened! I'm crushed that Brooke White stumbled on the first few words of her Andrew Lloyd Webber song "You must love me" and had to tell the conductor to start over. I was stunned! But then, she came back strong and the song was breathtaking. She did a fantastic job with it.
However, (drama) Simon and Randy didn't care for it that much and Bimbo Abdul told her she should never start over but just keep singing through the mistake. I completely disagree with that advice. Even Randy and Simon said she did the right thing by starting over. At least Brooke didn't break down and cry but, her lip did quiver a little.
I feel that Brooke will be in the bottom three for sure and will probably be voted off tonight. There is hope for her, though. Jason Castro sang the song "Memory" from Cats and it was awful! Even Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber thought it was a bad choice and he has never hear a male sing that song. Randy called it a "train wreck" and Simon said "it was the longest two minutes of my life." Jason had never heard the song before and didn't know that it was sung by a female cat in the play "Cats". Wow! I must be really old.
The highlight of the evening was listening to 'Sir Andrew' teach and talk to the contestants. Amazing! What a talent he is and so interesting to listen too.
Carly Smithson had a great performance of Jesus Christ Superstar. I loved it. What I really thought was interesting was when 'Sir Andrew' told her not to sing the song she wanted to sing and switch to 'Superstar'. How can Simon and Randy say it was a bad song choice when Andrew Lloyd Webber tells her to sing it. Good call and it was great.
David Archuleta and David Cook we're really good too! Syesha Mercado was, well, . . . forgetable. She looks fantastic but her range in singing is not good. The judges liked her but I'm still a hold out.
My picks for the bottom three are: Brooke, Jason and Syesha. Brooke gets the hook.
