Blonde vs. Brunette: What's Right For You?

Better Blonde

Go blonde if you...

Have lots of pink in your skin.

A cool, baby blonde is gorgeous with rosy skin, says Matthew B. It freshens the face yet prevents the skin from looking too flushed. Conversely, rosy skin (or even just a face full of bubble-gummy makeup) will clash with warm, brown hair.

Want to cut your hair short?

Meg's messy shag. Reese's bob. Jane from Melrose Place's chic crop circa '94. "When a short haircut is really hot, it's always on a blonde," says Matthew B. This is probably partly due, says Parvin, to highlights' ability to play up a style's shape.

Amazing Deal on Ojon Shine & Protect Shampoo/Conditioner

I feel like I've been in a hair "frump" lately. I keep saying to Jim, "my hair looks terrible, I need a change." He replies, "I love your hair, you look great." (sweet, I know) Here's the deal, my hair truly looks bad! I've not been taking care of it, choosing to purchase whatever brand I can find for shampoo and conditioner instead of buying what my hair loves. Since I had a $50 gift card to Sephora burning a hole in my wallet, I dashed out the door to Sephora in hopes of putting an end to my frump.

I had my mind set on an old favorite, Ojon Shine & Protect Shampoo & Conditioner. At $24 a bottle, I was all set with my gift card in hand. After mulling about through Sephora with my basket full of Ojon, I stumbled upon the biggest deal of the century. Get this, the ususal size shampoo and conditioner are 8.44 ounces each for $24 a piece. Now, only at Sephora, being sold as a combo package.... 33.8 ounces of shampoo and 33.8 ounces of conditioner for $89! Naturally, I quickly swiped the combo deal and put my other bottles back.

I could barely wait to get in the shower this morning to wash my hair. Ah, the luxurious lather and the silky smooth conditioner, my hair immediately thanked me by looking fabulous today.

I'm hoping this packaged special is offered on a regular basis, but can't confirm it. I suggest getting yours now!

Great Hair Tips!

Thanks Jennifer and Lynn!! Jennifer, I'll have to order that Ojon product from sephora soon! It sounds like it will help me out a ton. And Lynn, I've definitely heard that hair dryer is amazing! Since my birthday is coming up I'll have to tell my mom about it and hope for the best :-P!!

T3 Tourmaline Hair Dryer

Hi Julie and Jennifer: I use the T3 Tourmaline hair dryer for the frizzy days we have here in LA. It's amazing and i love it!

I actually leaned about it from this blog site as I saw a post written in this blog about a year ago. A stylist was shown using it on super model Gisele.

I promptly went out and bought it. It's pricey but it has lasted a long time. You can find it around the Internet for about $150 now.

Good luck!

Lynn LA, CA

Favorite Hair Care

I know the feeling Julie, this humidity is really doing a number on my hair too! I have to say, I love the Ojon brand of hair care products. Right now I am using Tunu Elastik Hair Tamer, by Ojon and love it. I found it at Sephora, it works really well, and a little goes a long way.

I hope this helps!

Humid Hair Days

We all know how to look great with what we wear (thanks to jlamore.com), but even if my outfit looks great, my hair is the problem lately!! Madison has been humid for the last week, and it looks like there is no end in site. The 10 day forecast shows rain, heat, and frizzy hair!!

Does anyone have any good hair products they use for hot and humid days?? It seems like I flat iron my hair, walk away to get dressed, and by the time I look in the mirror again my hair is wavy, frizzy, and not looking good! The humidity has got to stop! But since it won't, I guess I'll have to fight it!

Right now I use align 12 ultra-straight balm by Redken which does a so-so job. Friends please share your hair tips and tricks!
