Talking with John Littlefield

The "talent" as they're called in the biz is always fun to be around! Here I am having my picture taken with John Littlefield before he goes back to work.

Being a VIP guest of Dave and Katie Simon of Veridian Homes gave me this opportunity to have some fun and chat with John about the show and the house. He's very nice, polite and gracious. The entire day was tons of fun and I cannot thank Dave & Katie enough for their generosity in having Jim and I as guests to this amazing event.

**News Flash** We're also invited to the after party on Thursday where all the cast and crew will be singing and dancing the night away. The show is "a wrap" on Thursday afternoon and then the party time! Don't you just love my show biz lingo?

Extreme Makeover "Barn" Eddition!

To give you some idea of what condition this property was in, here's a picture of the barn. Can you just imagine! OMG! It's in terrible shape. The site is very remote and the one lane gravel road leading up to the house isn't very good shape either. Last year this Wisconsin area had more then 100 inches of snow. Getting in and out of this property would have been a huge challenge. The barn is useless as is inhabited only with squirrels, mice, raccoons, birds, etc. Even the house the family lived in had all those animals living in the walls and attic.
The picture to the right is what you see when you drive up this very long winding one lane road. The old barn is off to the right.

What a job for Veridian and Extreme Makeover!

As you can see, the VIP area has front row access to the job site and you can get a clear view of all the workers and the progress. I was told that the water for the old house was contaminated and undrinkable so Sams Well Drilling Service was called in and they volunteered to drill a new well for Extreme Makeover. They had to drill 400 feet and they did it in 24 hours, nonstop. I don't know anything about that but I'm told that's amazing feat and at a huge cost to that company. All of which was donated. Wow! I had a picture taken because they deserve some credit for that.

To the house we go!

Once we made it past the checkpoint it was down to the site we go. The garage is being built behind us and they were able to put a roof on it while we were there. We then walked behind the house on the right. We walked right past the film crew who film all day long and get as many people as they can. They have to film for days on end to get approximately 42 minutes of show time. They also have a huge trailer on the site where they work on the day's shooting and events. There's approximately 25-30 trailers and motor homes on the site. Amazing!

I'm getting ready to go work

With construction going on behind us at a rapid pace, Katie Simon and I take a photo-op moment before we go to the job site.
The hard hat didn't quite fit but I love the blue shirt and it's now autographed by the "talent" and proudly hangs in my office.
Behind me is a huge food tent with a beautiful buffet of just about everything you could want and it's all donated by various restaurants, meat companies, Gator aide, etc. It's amazing to see so much generosity.

Extreme Makeover Home Eddition VIP

As an honored guest of Veridian Homes and Extreme Home Makeover Home Addition, I spent the afternoon with great friends watching and support a wonderful cause. David & Katie Simon of Veridian Homes is building the amazing house for the Richland Center, Wisconsin family who was in desperate need. Here are some pictures of the event and the house.

Here I'm with my friend Jenn Scheller (left) getting ready to have David Simon take us down to the job site. We all had to wear hard hats and blue "makeover" shirts to get past security in case we ended up on film. Only blue shirts and Veridian Green shirts we're allowed on the job site. Very fun!
