I have been busy planning a "big girl's" day out with my 4-year-old, Emily. Sunday, we are going to brunch at the historic Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Florida. Then we will be heading to a performance by the Miami City Ballet at the University of Miami's Sunday Afternoons of Music for Children. We can't wait! There is nothing like getting dressed up with your little girl and having some quality time..

Speaking of getting dressed up, I think I will wear the Jaloux "Yellow Printed Halter" Dress with a big white bangle bracelet.. the perfect outfit for brunch and ballet..with a 4-year-old!!

Bailey 44, Love it!!!

I just purchased the Bailey 44 double tank spin dress, and I can't wait to wear it on my trip to LA next weekend. I love that it can be dressed up or down with flats or heels. And the layered looks is so flattering on any body type. I also love that it can be worn with a regular bra, for those ladies who hate strapless like myself. I want it in both colors!!!!

We have 2 very special birthdays today - my baby girl, Hollis, is 1 and Jim McCarthy is 50!!!!!! Hope it's okay that I shared that with everyone - I don't think he'll get too mad at me . . . Hope you and Jennifer have a great day celebrating! Even though Hollis doesn't really get it, we're going to celebrate this first year with our good friends tonight. Color!

As I was going through my closet the other day, I realized the one thing I am in major need of... more color! Recently I have been trying to buy very bright and patterned items, but I still look at my closet and see a ton of black, white, and brown.

The Sweetees "Kaira" Top is JUST the type of color I'm looking for! It's bright, without looking too "wow", and it's a cute style! I'd love to wear it with jeans for a casual look. Cute cute cute!

All of the Susana Monaco tops and dresses are in great colors, too! I love the bright yellows, greens, and teals!

The ABS "Sailor" Pant is really cute! I love the button detail! I always look to celebrities for the latest styles, and I recall seeing Gwen Stefani with a "sailor" pant very similar to this on! Also I know that anything ABS is going to fit fabulous!

Memorial Day Weekend

Hope everyone had a great weekend! ...In an effort to avoid the traffic and headache of travel over such a busy weekend, my boyfriend and I checked into the Hotel Gansevoort right here in NYC. We had a great time spending lazy afternoons around the roof-top pool. With gorgeous weather all weekend long, I was thrilled to finally break in my summer dresses, shorts, and sandals. My Fashionista Short Jumper with wedge sandals was perfect for going from the pool to an outdoor lunch... All in all, a great weekend!!!

Memorial Day Plans

What are everyone's Memorial Day weekend plans? Our plans are to hit the beach Sunday late afternoon, drink some Coronas, eat a picnic, and watch the kids play as the light fades. (It is the best time of day at the beach) Monday, we are going to a friend's pool to (once again) drink some Coronas, and grill some yummy shrimp. All in all, a laid back family weekend (my favorite kind). I'd love to hear what everyone else has planned.

By the way, I 'm sure I will be throwing on my Feel Good tees and some Billy Blues shorts over my swimsuit- I found on vacation that these together are "well-suited" for pre- and post- swimming coverups!

Girls Getaway!

I am so excited! My annual "girls getaway" to Manitowish Waters is next weekend and I couldn't be more excited! My great friend Terri has a beautiful house on the lake and invites a few of us up for a laugh filled weekend! We usually hit the local bars, dance to the juke box, and shoot some pool. It's so much fun. I was in great "need" of a new pair of jeans for the weekend, so I purchased the Antik Denim 5 pocket jean with contrast stitching. They are so hot! I love them and can't wait to wear them next weekend with my cowboy hat! Yee Haw!

Summer Weddings

Like most, I have at least one summer wedding on my social calendar this season. And I have to admit, I love having an excuse to buy a new dress for each one!

I am loving the Yoana Baraschi "60's Party" Dress and the matching "Mia" Silver Crop Jacket. I have this outfit in mind for a particular wedding later this summer. I like the idea of having the little jacket for the ceremony and then taking it off for the dinner and reception, but I'm not sure if the color is too close to "white" for a wedding. What do you all think?

Wedges!!

Congrats on winning Best of Madison, Jennifer. It should be Best of America. We have several high end boutiques down here in Miami, and not one of them has the warmth, friendliness, and genuine customer service like J.Lamore. I feel at home every time I visit the store!

Anyway, I would like to write a little bit about my favorite trend of the season: Wedges! Those that know me know that I walk terribly in heels, but I love the extra height and sexiness factor that they give. Thank goodness for wedges! They are so comfortable, giving height without causing sore feet and awkward stances. The cork heel in many of the styles found right here at jlamore.com have some cushion as well! I hope this trend never goes out of style. I am especially a fan of The Boutique 58 "Emma Jane" Black Sandal for comfort, versatility, and sexiness!

Wow! Thanks everyone for all the kudos on winning the "Best of Madison" award. I couldn't be more proud of our store, our website, and everyone who is a part of it! That includes my husband Jim, Jessica, Amy, Julie, and all the technical staff. You all are amazing and it is such a privilege to work with you everyday.

Ok...so what to wear to the "Best of Madison?" It is a fairly formal celebration, we will see everything from floor length evening gowns to something similar to the amazing ABS Hanky Back Dress. The Susana Monaco dresses would be perfect, just add some great long chains and/or strands of pearls to make them more formal. You will look great! I still haven't chosen my dress yet, but I am thinking about the

ABS Gold Bubble Tank Dress. We will see!

Susana Monaco" Austrian Shell Print Tube Dress"

I recently bought the Susana Monaco" Austrian Shell Print Tube Dress" and I cannot WAIT to wear it! I was planning on saving it for my graduation party, but it's hard to wait so long!! I may wear it to the Best of Madison party ( which although I've already told you, congrats Jennifer!!), with some dressy heels, but I'm not sure if this is dressy enough.

So Amy, I have the same question as you! I'm not sure what the 'appropriate attire' is for the Best of Madison party because last time I was invited to it was with my school dance team (and the attire was, well, our dance costumes!) I may wear a bit dressier of a dress and save my new Susana Monaco one till my own party as planned!

I also think this dress by Sweetees is perfect for an event I have to go to for work. It's long but can look casual to. I remember the advice you gave me some time ago that its always better to over dress then to under dress. That has helped me many times.

Hi All: Seems like everyone has been busy... Feel Good has quickly become my new favorite t-shirt line. The fabric and the fit are great! I ordered one tee a couple weeks ago and just ordered more tees and tanks today. We're Back..

Hello everyone! We are back from the beach..and, besides bouts of bad colds, stomach flu, and major traffic jams, we had a blast! (I could write a memoir titled Road Trips with Kids: Tales of Trips from Hell) The sun was warm, and the margaritas and beer were cold! Speaking of margaritas, I thought I would share our personal recipe gained from an old friend back in Tennessee. They are called "Knock Ya Naked Margaritas". Mix the following together:

1 large can frozen limeade
1 can tequila (use empty limeade can)
3 light beers
splash Triple Sec
Serve over ice!!

Be careful..they taste very good and go down quite easily! Funny story- Jennifer mistakenly made these with one can of beer! As her husband, Jim, said, she was naked before she even drank one!! :)

Popcorn!!

Max, I am head over heels in love with Garrett's popcorn!! My family used to meet down in Chicago twice a year for shopping trips and my aunt would spend a long time (sometimes hours!) in line at Garrett's just to get some for us. The last time I was there it was still in a little tiny shop that was always busy, but for some reason I feel like they may have moved? How awesome it's available online, I'll be ordering some tomorrow!

P.S. My favorite is just the classic cheese popcorn, yum!!!

LaMore does not specialize in prom fashion so my dress is not from the store, my shoes are and they looked amazing! You can't see them in any pics, but they are a pair of gold Lea Foscati's I bought last year- and they were perfect!!

Great new items!! I love the ABS "Sailor" Pant, they look like they would fit SO cute. They seem like they would be very flattering for your backside :)- haha isn't that the best?!

I love the lookbook just as much as everyone else! It has been a lot of fun watching it be put together. The whole process from seeing the models be photographed up until this wonderful final product has been a lot of fun! I think it looks wonderful, great job to everyone who has worked on it.

Wide Leg Pants are in. . . I love'em

I am so glad that the wide "look" is back and that jlamore.com is on top of this trend. If I see it here then I know its for real.

I was just in New York and saw some women wearing them and I had to come back to Boston and check with Jennifer to see if it was true and how long this trend will last. I love the wide look and can hardly wait to embrace it.

For me, this look is so much more fashionable and stylish then the skinny or even the straight leg pant or trouser.

I also love Billy Blues and this wide leg Indigo pant is so great. The tie belt is really edgy and hip.

Oh, nice job on the "lookbook" by the way. I love it and it really adds to the site. You're sense of style about everything is an inspiration to all of us. I can hardly wait to see what you come up with next!

It's been so long . . .

Hi Everyone!

Gosh, I can't believe it's been such a long since I got to chat with ya'll. This year has definitely been an interesting one and the last few weeks were no exception. I was in Memphis visiting my family (and Amanda K's) for about 10 days. I anticipated having tons of free time to catch up with friends, J. Lamore, sit in the sun, relax. Ha! My parents don't know the meaning of the word relax and neither does my 11 mo. old daughter:)! Anyway, it was go, go, go from the time I landed to the time I took off. On top of that their internet connection was down the entire time. I came home only to find that my own internet connection was lost. Just today, after nearly 4 hours of repairs, we are back up and running. YAY! I feel like a junkie for saying this but I was really starting to have withdrawals from the net. Well, just wanted to check in. I'm going to catch up on Grey's Anatomy but will definitely chat with ya'll tomorrow.

Paris is calling Yoana Baraschi. . !

Both of you are right about the Yoana Baraschi "Couture" dress, but this "60's Party" dress by Yoana Baraschi is fantastic. I love this look!

In my recent move from one side of Paris to the other, I got rid of so many things that I never wore and I feel like I have to start over. I would love to start right HERE! It also feels like I moved to another city because the fashions from where I used to live is so different to where I live now!

All the fashionistas in my "new" Paris are wearing this look right now. Yoana Baraschi definetly has a European style to her and designs because both dresses mentioned would fit perfectly in Paris. They're beautiful and so feminine!

By the way Jennifer, I'm so excited to hear that you are coming to Paris? I got your email and I would love it if I got to meet you and your friends. I think this long dress by Sweetees is beautiful too! I love the basket weave front and the color is perfect. I have the same hair color and skin tone as Jessica so I am lucky in knowing how colors will look on me.

Our move is finally done!
