Have your cake and eat it too...

I just got back from a trip to one of my favorite bakeries here in New York – Babycakes on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. I absolutely love love love their cupcakes (my favorite flavors include vanilla, carrot cake, and lemon). Although there are dozens of bakeries and cupcake shops throughout this city (and many claiming to be the best), Babycakes is particularly unique in that all of their baked goods are made with natural and organic ingredients. What’s more, they never use white sugar, and most of their items are free from common allergens, such as wheat, gluten, and dairy. Somehow, Babycakes is still able to make a fantastic cupcake (you’d never miss the white flour, butter, or eggs)! Even New York Magazine named these cupcakes the Best of New York in 2006. If you’re in the NYC area, you have to stop by; however, they also offer shipping throughout the country… I generally buy at least a half a dozen at a time and have been known to have a couple for breakfast! (Hey, why not – they’re healthy!)
