American Idol update: Chikezie is out!

Hi Jennifer and friends: Music fans voted Chikezie off on American Idol last night. I was surprised as I think he's pretty good and one bad song choice shouldn't get him the "big hook".

What REALLY surprised me was when Syesha Mercado was sent to the loser chairs and almost got booted off. C'mon music people, that girl can sing and her performance Tuesday was one of the best. Are all of you crazy?Rumor has it that she performed first and people probably forgot about her when it came time to vote. It's the only explanation I can think of that would put her in the bottom three for vote totals.

My favorite contestant, Brooke White, is hanging in there although she had better step it up if she's going to keep up with David Cook. Cook's rendition of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" was amazing and the best performance of Tuesday night.

Who I think needs to get the boot is Ramiele Maluba. She's an average singer with little or no stage presence and she should have been "rode outta' town" weeks ago. The same goes for Kristy Lee Cook. Boring, dull, average, not good! Although she was wearing a Sky top for her last performance. It looked great on her.

Simon is right! It's now become a popularity contest and not a talent contest. We'll see what happens next week. He's the guy who makes the show go even though he crass, rude, and arrogant. He knows his stuff!

Paula is wacky. I really don't understand her at all. I also think her comments to David Archuleta that he "could sing the phone book and we would love it. . . " was stupid.

Randy Jackson is very good and I hang on every word he says about the performance.
