The Sweater Dress

My favorite part of the Sunday New York Times is definitely the Style section. (I read it cover to cover every weekend!) Today there was a focus on sweater dresses:

J. LaMore...Head-to-Toe!

On Thursday night, I found myself dressed by J. LaMore... from head to toe! I wore my new Black Halo Romeo Top, my trusty ABS Wide Leg Jeans, and my always-perfect Boutique 9 Lowan Pumps. I added a large clutch in a deep scarlet to bring in some color, but every other item came from my favorite Wisconsin boutique! It was the perfect outfit for a chic dinner followed by drinks and a little dancing...

Max update...

Just wanted to update you on Max: she is currently 9 months pregnant and getting very close to delivery!! (and still looking great, I might add) She is going to have another little girl... I will definitely let you know when Miss Molly arrives! She still reads the blog frequently and misses participating in the website- I think that when her life settles down a bit she will be back.

Great Recipes...

To answer my own Sunday afternoon question- today I am lounging in my Twisted Heart sweats and cooking a big pot of Paula Deen's The Lady's Chicken Noodle Soup and a batch of Herb Cornbread. I have two sick kids and I never underestimate the medicinal properties of chicken noodle soup! Check out the recipes- they're delicious!!! Great to get you through cold season, or just a cool fall evening.

Today is the last day in September! I'm not a huge fan of fall so I try to put off changing my seasonal wardrobe as long as possible! I was browsing through the SALE merchandise and found so many great items! I especially like this Poleci "Paisley Silk Wrap" Top! I think it looks great with jeans and dressed up with some trousers for work!

The Best Jacket for you

There are many different types and styles of jackets out for the up coming fall/winter season. Soon, we will all be shopping at Jlamore looking for the perfect jacket. Well, the perfect jacket for you may not look and be the same for the girl next to you. It is very important to find a jacket that flatters your body type. This varies depending on your torso length and leg length Here are a few tips that I came across in Lucky Magazine to find the perfect jacket for you.

Wear a classic Blazer to.. Balance a pear shaped body and fill out sloped shoulders
Wear a western Jacket to.. Enhance small chest and to make shoulders seem smaller
Wear a 40's style fitted blazer to.. Accommodate large chest and to create curves on a straight frame
Wear a bomber jacket to..Create a waist and to shorten a long torso

Hopefully these tips will help you all choose a jacket for your body type. Always remember to mix things up with picking tops to wear under these jackets but don't go over the top and extreme. Make sure that whatever top you put under neath your jacket that it still flatters your body.

I always look at the what's new page! The merchandise for fall looks unbelievable! I love it all! The Twisted Heart "Biker Girl" T Shirt caught my eye right away! We all know that I love twisted heart! This just might be my favorite piece from them yet.....cute!

Target has stepped it up once again with their new beauty line, Soap and Glory. This line is funky and fresh. Soap and Glory puts an edge and twist to everyday beauty products. The packaging is fun and has a vintage feel to it, I love it. Lip gloss is not the only product in this line. There is shimmering lotion, body butter, body wash and much more. It is always fun to try different beauty products. And we all know that these products will not break the bank. Go to target and check it out!

Boutique 9 "Gossip" Pump

More and more Jlamore products are seen in all the fashion magazines and now as mentioned TV Shows. Very exciting. Would you expect anything else? No way!! The products and designers that Jlamore carries are ones that turn women into trend setting fashionistas. It is always exciting to see what you wear on a cover of a magazine or featured in the trends for the fall. Jamie Lynn Singer is rocking the Boutique 9 "Gossip"Pump with tights and a stunning gold tunic. This is another great way to wear these shoes in a more high style less conservative way. I see all the stars wearing high waisted jeans! I love they way they look here on Kate! I think that I will have to follow her trend and get the Billy Blues "High Waist" Wide Leg Jean! My Sunday Best

Similar to what everyone else is wearing on Sundays, I love to wear little camis like the Laquette "Lemonade" Cami and Twisted Heart "Lucy" Pants.

When I'm not working, Sundays are my days to sleep in, watch movies and spend time with my puppy.

Sunday. . . My favorite Day!

I work M -F and on Friday and Saturday nights it's out on the town in L.A. L.A. has some of the best night clubs in the country but they can make for a long nights and by Sunday, I am dead and ready to relax.

My friends and I go to the beach during the day and then to someones house for a Sunday cookout or we order a pizza. By 9 pm I am in bed.

Sundays for me are usually very lazy. I stay in and watch lifetime movies or I walk around the city and just shop around! I usually dress casual in twisted heart or if I fell motivated I put on my Qi Cashmere "Kimono" Dress! I like to wear this dress with a pair of my flats! I love Sundays!

Waking up on Sunday afternoons/evening??!!

After a long saturday night all I want to do is be comfortable. Sunday's are my comfy lazy day. If my favorite team, The Chargers are playing, I park it on the couch and relax. I can't think of anything more comfortable and my style of Sunday wear than than the Qi Cashmere "Shawl Collar" Cardigan. Throwing this on with a pair of jeans or some black juciy sweatpants I am in heaven.

Sunday Afternoons (or More like Evenings)

As soon as Desperate Housewives starts (This week!), my Sunday's will be my "Wine, Dine, and Desperate night." My girlfriends and I get together and either order out or make dinner while we watch our all time favorite show. I like to be comfy but still look cute, so this Sunday I plan on wearing my new Miss Me jeans, My Boutique 9 leopard flats, and a simple black tee. This way I look comfortable, but still feel great in my J. LaMore clothes!

For me, Saturday night is a big date night (and hence, a late night), so my boyfriend and I are usually pretty slow to wake on Sunday morning. Sunday Afternoons....

J. LaMore has grown so much since my aunt Jennifer opened the store seven years ago! I knew the first time that I stepped foot in the store and experienced the warmth and friendliness (not to mention the fabulous clothes) that the business would be a success! J. LaMore is one of the first stops I make when I head to Madison. Now, I get to be a part of the store from 2,000 miles away in Miami through jlamore.com!

What I love about being a part of jlamore.com is meeting friends from all over the world and different walks of life. We now have a full-time mom(myself), a magazine editor, a jewelry designer, a public relations director, a college student, and an entrepreneur! (just to name a few)I love talking fashion on the blog, but I also love to know about each friend and how fashion fits into their lives. Which brings me to the question of the month for October:

What is your favorite thing to do on a Sunday afternoon? Are you recovering from a long Saturday night curled up on your couch in your Twisted Heart outfit? I love this Yoana Baraschi "Bond Girl Trench" Jacket. This jacket is perfect

for everyday use and will go with any outfit, a casual day running around town or throwing it on over a suit before a big meeting. Either way this jacket makes a bold statement. I see that we have a lot of similar favorite designers, such as Antik Denim, Parameter, and Susana Monaco. I hope the J. LaMore gang doesn't mind me sharing that some very beautiful Susana Monaco items are in the store and will most likely be on the site soon!! Susana will always be one of my favorites! First Date?!!?? Night on the Town??..This is the perfect outfit

One of the hardest decisions to make is picking out the perfect outfit for the first date or just wanting to impress all the single men in your city. Jeans and just any old top is not going to cut it. You want to feely sexy, beautiful, and confident.

Sassy Ankle Boot

The fashion world is often times hit with trends that stay for longer than just a few months or a season. I believe this is true for the inevitable ankle boot that has graced the fashion world and at no time is exiting. The Modern Vintage "Althea" Shoe Boot is by far one of the best looking ankle boot you will come by. I can see how many would want to stay away from this trend thinking it is too out of the box and different. Well while that is defiantly true, this is a trend that is different but so fashion forward, flirty and fun. There are many ways to rock the ankle boot.

Hayden Panettiere wears he ankle boot as the highlight of her outfit. This look is funky, fresh, but also very chic. The boots really stand out and look great up against her Kelly green dress.

Catherine Zeta Jones, pair the ankle boot in a class sophisticated way with a solid opaque black tight and dress. This look displays and features the ankle boot but in a toned down state. It doesn’t necessarily highlight the boot. This is a great look, that isn’t going anywhere soon.

A Chic Comfy Look

I am probably the number one lover for comfort and sweat pants. Who says that being comfy has to come at the expense of still looking chic and stylish? Many believe that being comfortable is throwing on your boyfriends big tee’s and basketball shorts. Poleci Granite Flower Top

The new items coming daily are great! Today I noticed the new Poleci "Granite Flower" Top up on the site and let me just say, this top is just as gorgeous if not even more in person. It's so trendy and up to this seasons fashion. My favorite part is this tops metallic shimmer, that's hot!!

New Workout!

Hey Gals – I have to share a great new workout I just tried…pole dancing!! ;) Yes, that's what I said! Pole dancing classes are popping up all over the country as a new and fun alternative to traditional exercise. (Really gals, how many times can we really get on that treadmill day after day?) A college girlfriend turned me on to it, and now I'm hooked. My intro class was about an hour long and was a really fun way to burn calories and tone my arms, legs, and backside – all while learning a sexy routine and even a few tricks! (Yes, I can swing around that pole and almost climb it!) Believe me – it’s as hard as it looks but was a great way to laugh and feel sexy (sort of) while getting a great workout! Bonus: You get to wear heels instead of your grungy sneakers! ;)

Everyone loves Twisted Heart, how couldn't you?! The new items are perfect for anyone who likes to be comfy but at the same time look very very cute!! Billy Blues "Indigo Flap Pocket" Trouser

Hi girls! I know its been a while since Amanda sent me a warm southern welcome, but wanted to let you all know that I am thrilled to join all you fashion divas on jlamore.com! Due to some technical challenges on my part, I've been out of commission for a while, but am back on-line. I was so excited to see all of the fabulous new items for fall -- if only it would cool off a little down here! Won't be long... One of my favorite things about J. LaMore is how they carry such a wide variety of items that are perfect for all temperatures!

If I had to pick my favorite new item, it would have to be.....impossible! There is so much to choose from! No need to waste any more time. Im ready to start some fall shopping and know just what I am going to purchase first! Can't wait to wear these Billy Blues trousers! These straight-leg trousers are SO slimming and versatile! I'll definitely get a lot of wear out of these. Glad they are machine-washable... no need to waste any shopping funds on unnecessary dry cleaning bills!

Always Impressed!

I am so excited to say that I finally was able to stop into J. LaMore and see all the new items in person! Granted it was at 10:00 this morning, after I had rolled out of bed a little later then usual from the Badger game the night before (Go Badgers!!), but I still had enough time to see how fabulous the new items at J. LaMore are.

Some of my favorite picks would have to be the Lu Lu Lame "Lace Tank" Top, the Ardistia "Juliette" Jacket, and the Boutique 9 "Natural Pony" Pump. I was this close to buying those pumps, but my inner instinct told me as a college student it would be unfair to let those beautiful shoes sit in my closet, since wearing heels isn't much of an option when you're walking as much as I do! So instead I decided on the Boutique 9 "Mae" Flats, which I love just as much!!
