My Vacation!

Hi everyone!
I'm back from my fabulous vacation in Fort Myers, Florida! I had such a blast, and it was great to reunite with my whole family again. The weather was absolutely beautiful, 84 degrees and sunny everyday. It made me really jealous of people like Amanda living in Miami...Lucky! The picture to the left is my Uncles and I on Bonita Beach, and to the right is my adorable 18 month old cousin Derek in his Halloween costume.

Living a life of Glamour

There is nothing that I love more than fashion inspired books. Many people would consider these books nice "coffee table" toppers. For me they are inspirational and teach me more and more about fashion. Rachel Zoe, a stylist to top notch celebrities, Keira Knightly, Kate Moss, Mischa Barton has come out with her first book, Style A to Zoe. This books outlines the art of fashion beauty and how to make your entire life not just your look glamorous. It will inspire you to go above and beyond your normal style security and try different pieces but still maintaining comfort and confidence. Confidence is the most important factor when you walk out of your house to either go on a date or just another day in the office. The lack of confidence will be seen in your whole ambiance.
One point that Rachel makes is that it is so important to have an inspiration for your style and fashion. For her it was her mother, always very tan and over done with chunky jewelry. This inspiration will allow you to pull ideas into your everyday life. This is important not to copy exactly what you like off someone else but turn it into your own style and look. Copying exactly off another never works.
Style A to Zoe is a fun book that will truly inspire you and impact your life. You will find that many pieces off Jlamore will aid in defining your look!

Chicago Restaurants

Amanda K: I just spent a couple days in Chicago and had a great time. My mom and I saw Jersey Boys, which was incredible, and also had a couple fantastic meals! We ate at Tru and Les Nomades, both terrific!

I would also HIGHLY recommend Alinea and Moto for a really special meal and experience. I blogged about both last year, as two restaurants on my “must-try” list. (Check out my blog entry under “Chicago Restaurants.”) I have since eaten at both… For my birthday, my boyfriend and I flew to Chicago for the sole purpose of dining at Alinea (considered the best restaurant in America, according to Gourmet Magazine). The meal was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! Moto is also terrific – great food and really unique; think menus printed on edible crackers! Of the two, Moto was more casual and hence, probably a bit more “fun.” But my meal and experience at Alinea was unforgettable; think 20-plus courses with superb wine pairings! (Check out the bison course at left!) Enjoy!

Have a good weekend everyone! P.S. can you believe its already Nov 9th? Where does the time go!

Chicago Restaurants??

Ok, all of you Chicago residents and Midwesterners, it is time for my annual weekend Christmas shopping trip on Michigan Avenue. I have been placed in charge of dinner reservations, and need some recommendations. Our hotel is on Michigan Ave (I think it is the Four Points Sheraton Downtown/Magnificent Mile). I think we'd like to have one casual night, and one "big-night-out". I will be with two other ladies.. can't wait to hear what you come up with!

5 star recipe!

As readers of the blog know, I like to share great recipes when I come across them. (I've been known to post pics of recipes that have turned out well in my kitchen, such as my Thanksgiving turkey and daughter's first birthday cake!) Tyler Florence's Roasted Tomato Soup is incredible! This recipe would be great for entertaining or warming yourself up on a cold winter night. It is easy to make, but tastes like it came from a fancy restaurant. Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Billy Blues will take my Winter Blues away...

Today is the officially start of winter, 28 degrees all day long here in Nebraska. This is my first winter and my body was shocked by the cold this morning. I learned really fast that gloves, boots, and pants are going to be my best bet this winter. The Billy Blues "Wide Leg" Pant are perfect pant for work this winter season. It is going to be hard to wear skirts and dresses to work. These pants are the perfect staple item for my winter wardrobe. If it is a really chilly day, I can always wear tights underneath! The Billy Blues "Wide Waist" are also a great pant to wear with the Modern Vintage "Kittie" boot. The capris give you a different look to wear by still maintaining warmth.

What would you do for a ROSE??

Ladies,
It is coming to an end, this season of the Bachelor. As we all don't want to admit it, The Bachelor is one of those guilty pleasure shows. It is not so much that we want to be those girls, but it is almost some times hilarious to see women fall in love in just a few short hours.

Lust and infatuation are more of the feeling I think all these girls are feeling. There are a small few percent of women that wouldn't want to be wined dined, and taken on amazing dates with a stud from Texas.
The Wendy Katlen "Jaquard Wiggle" Dress would be the perfect dress for one of the infamous rose ceremonies. This classic and chic dress would wow any Bachelor!

Love the Boots

Hi Friends,

I have to say, I am loving my newest purchase! The Modern Vintage Summer Cherokee boot in black. Amazingly comfortable and perfectly trendy. I just wore these with the Qi Cashmere ribbed keyhole dress, what a great outfit. Many compliments all day long! I can't wait to wear the boots with my Union rose straight leg jeans.

A Comfy Look

Twisted Heart is known for its unique twist on making comfy fashionable and stylish.
This line is great because all of the pieces are very versitile and can go with many other pieces.
Still maintaining the comfortable feel and look pairing the Twisted Heart "House of Twisted" Jacket
with the Miss Me "Montague" Jeans still achieves comfy with out wearing the sweat pants as well.

The Modern Vintage "Kittie" Boot would top this look off.

I Love Billy!

I love the comfort, ease, and versatility of pants and shorts made by Billy Blues. These "5 Pocket Boot Cut" Pants are no exception- great for weekend shopping trips or casual dinner with friends. Throw them on with a sweater or a tank top in warmer climates. I personally love them with the Qi Cashmere "Waffle Knit" Cardigan.

Hot Outfit!

I love this outfit! It's like a perfect conservative-yet sexy-trendy look. That's hard to pull off! The Twisted Heart "Royal Crew" Sweater is to die for in person. It's so soft and the detailing is just beautiful. Great idea to pair it with those hot boots!!
