". . . and in the end. . . "

Like I said earlier. Eight minutes is all you get. The music thumps, the beat is head bobbing and rapid, and the models walk in step. The show was great and the time flew by as there was always something going on with no break in between the first run to the second run. That's the key to a good fashion show.

The show was well choreographed and flawless.

Jennifer and Jessica worked back stage to make sure everything was perfect and it was.

Donated Time & Energy for Autism.

Raquel and The Rock Agency have some serious talent and drop dead gorgeous models in their talent pool. Wow!

These young beauties were like everyone else and donated their time for the Autism cause.

Jim

KJ and the Runway!

Maybe it's just me, but no one can walk a runway like KJ. She is amazing up and down the catwalk and is exactly what you think a runway model should be. When she is working it you are in the presence of something special!

We have worked with KJ in the past and will work with her again.

Raquel told us recently that there is a model out there for every kind of job. But not all of them can walk a runway! So true.

Jim

One Hot Look after another!

You can work on a fashion show for about three weeks and its all over in about eight minutes! Sad but true! But in that eight minutes you can see the faces and hear the screaming and yelling of a crowd that will imagine themselves wearing these looks to a function or anywhere they can think of.

Part of the lure of a fashion show is also to be seen. All the who's who will show up to be part of the event. People in the biz will show up to watch and the models will work the runway hard in the hopes of future work.

Everyone has a camera and the flash of lights adds to the excitement.

All that goes on in about eight minutes!

Jim

Lights! Camera! Action!

On with the show.
My Tribe (Left) and Yoana Baraschi
We just got the My Tribe dress in and haven't shot it for jlamore.com yet. When we do it will go fast because it's fantastic.

The UW Drum Line Performs for Autism!

You can tell by the crowd that Ben, Mandy's boyfriend, had everyone laughing and having a great time. As all of you know, when people are having fun they tend to donate more for the cause. In this case it was Autism. I'm not sure how much money was donated but it was a big crowd and lots of fun. So here's hoping that the goal was met.

At J. LaMore and jlamore.com we try and support as many health related causes as we can and we are asked to do so almost every week.

When Raquel, the owner of The Rock Modeling Agency, asked us to help with her Autism charity campaign, we jumped into action with both feet, rolled up our sleeves and got the job done.

UW Drumline performs. . .Great fun!

Who doesn't love the UW Drum line? Everyone does, and they put on a great show. It was too much fun. The crowd went crazy as they started a routine of music and dance that begged for more.

These guys really know how to party! Here's a question I need an answer for. Every time you hear the UW Drum line it makes you want to order more beer. Why is that? Can someone please tell me because by the time they were done playing our table had 400 hundred pitchers of beer on it and I was broke.

Mandy's boyfriend is the drummer on the far left.

Fashion Show for Autism

Putting on a fashion show is a ton of work which involves everyone at J. LaMore. Model fittings for 30 outfits is a big deal along with inventory tracking, jewelry and accessorizing the outfit and a countless punch list of other things just to keep it all straight. Not only that, but putting it all together seamlessly as well as coordinating with other participating businesses to put on a great show is stressful. Then, you have ultimate goal of raising money for Autism. You don't want to screw that up so the show has to be great!

Here we have Mandy, the "she's so cute" creative brain trust behind jlamore.com taking a much needed break as we wait for the UW Drum Line to start the show.

Fashion Show for Autism

Hi Everyone. I am so pleased to say that J. LaMore and jlamore.com teamed up with The Rock Modeling Agency, Ranghart clothing and the UW Drum Line to put on a fashion show to help raise money for Autism. The show was a huge success and here are some of the pics to show you what fun it was.

Here's Jessica sporting a diamond and emerald ring she threw on for the show. It's almost amazing how it fit perfectly on her ring finger. The rings value is unknown at this time but two security guards showed up, just in case.

Headbands?

I really like this look that Mischa Barton, Nicole Richie, and Ashlee Simpson are all wearing. Wearing these headbands is a great way to pull the "60's and 70's inspired look all together. What do you think? Would you wear this look?

Sarah Botham for Madison Magazine!

Sarah looks fantastic and it was fun photographing her for an upcoming Madison Magazine photoshoot. What a great job I have! And all this time I thought Jennifer had the best job!

Jim

Madison Magazine & Ryann Petit-Frere

What a surprise! Check out this look for Shayna Miller's upcoming March issue of Madison Magazine. All of us at J. LaMore are so thankful to have the opportunity to style such fun loving gals.

Ryann's a high powered mover & shaker during the day and likes to kick up her heals on the weekends. She also looks fantastic in anything she wears. We had a lot of fun shooting her in several outfits as we couldn't find the right one that fit into the exact mood and style she was trying to capture. So, Julie just kept putting style after style in the dressing room until we found the perfect look for Ryann.

Madison Magazine & Sarah Botham!

Hi Everyone:

Shayna Miller from Madison Magazine came down with Sarah Botham to gather some fashions for her magazine's upcoming photo shoot. Sarah is a professor at the University of Wisconsin and the owner of Botham Vineyards. Yumm! We shot her in some outfits and had tons of fun. Sarah is so great. Take a look!
Sarah has personality in large amounts of fun and you never see her without a smile on her face. We shot her in some Lauren Moshi designer t's with a My Tribe jacket and vest. The Lauren Moshi t's just came in they're HOT!
Fashion always works the best with anyone who isn't afraid to try things on, have some fun and see what happens.

Get her look...

Kate Hudson wore a sexy leather high waisted skirt to the Bride Wars movie premiere. J.LaMore has a Yoana Baraschi "Snake Charmer Pencil" Skirt that looks a lot like the one she wore! If you love this look you'll love this skirt!

Say yes to the dress :)

I love the new dresses that are up! Very stylish... I think that if i had to pick just one I would go with the My Tribe "Yeal Gather" Dress! I absolutely love the cut of this dress. It's very flattering and right on trend for Spring 09!

American Idol update. . . . . !

Hi Jennifer & Friends! Michael Castro, Jason's brother, made his debut last night on 'Idol' and for some reason he got a ticket to Hollywood. He was average at best and looks like a complete punker. Purple and orange hair with a punk rock outfit. I didn't see or hear it but he won't last long. He and his brother just don't care enough to have anyone care if they make it. He told the judges that he just started signing three weeks ago. Yeah right!
Ashley Anderson did a good job last night and she is gorgeous. I think her star quality is far better then most on the show.
My vote for Kara as a good addition to the show is improving. I think she adds a certain quality to the show and will help Paula fend off Simon.
The sob story for the evening was from Danny, a 28 year old music teacher. For him coming to the audition was nothing short of an emotional sacrifice. His wife had died of a heart condition recently and he said he was close to not trying out because the emotions were so intense. He sang I heard It Through the Grapevine. He was very soulful with good rhythm. Randy Jackson said he is the best he has seen! He was off to Hollywood and when he went outside the door he held up his ticket and said, “Sophia this one is for you.”
That's all for now. I have to go to work.

It's "Idol" time. . . . !

Hi Jennifer and Friends. I'm so glad a new season of American Idol started and I watched the entire show. I have to say that bikini girl is not that good. Actually she was terrible, but what a bod. I wish my butt looked like that. She is something else. I hope her mother's proud. And does she have an attitude or what? I hope she comes to Hollywood and gains weight.

Did you see her prance around all day in her bikini? OMG! What kind of girl would do that just to be on TV. I guess that's a stupid question. Anyway, it should be a fun season. I'm not sure what I think about the new judge Kara. It's to early to tell.

Lynn, Los Angeles.

No Fakes!

Hi Jennifer & Gang!

Happy New Year to all! I read your post on "No Fakes" and being from L.A., I completely agree with you. This was big news here and its just the tip of the iceberg. Fake 'everything' is big business and some of my friends par-take in buying fakes and try to pass them off as the real thing. A fake designer bag is not going to last and it's not made to last so you can really tell when you see it a couple of times. I always call them on it when they try to bring hem out and pass them off as real. Baloney!

What I see a lot now is the consignment shops selling fake designer items trying to pass them off as genuine. How can they do that? They must know the items brought in by the customers are fake. You could'nt give me a fake bag or pay me to shop in a consignment store.

And you're absolutely right about the area where they sell these items. Its a gross area and really grimy. Yuck! Your post really hit a sore spot with me. Keep up the great work!

When are you coming to L.A. again? When you do please look me up and we'll go out on the town. I'll take you to the places where people who buy the "real thing" go. It will be a blast. Let me know. Hey! I also love the new Yoana Baraschi green dress that just came in. It's beautiful!

$2.8M Seized In Counterfeits

I was just reading my trade journal, WWD and came across an article regarding a big counterfeit bust in Los Angeles. Apparently, more than 200,00 counterfeit apparel items and pirated CD's with a street value of $2.8 million were seized last week. It was the second largest raid in LA county history. Counterfeit goods, in LA county alone, cost businesses billions a year in lost revenue. I've seen the district in LA where the bust was made (it's in the garment district) and it's absolutely despicable.

Fakes are a definite NO!

Jennifer

Sale Jackets!

Both of these jackets are gorgeous! I love the color combination and the vintage look that they both have to them. Now that they're on SALE maybe I should get both? The Nicole Benisti "Mod Print" Jacket will look great with all my jeans and brown colored shoes and the Nicole Benisti "Grey Ruffle" Jacket will go perfect with all my darker "work" clothes!

SALE

I was looking through the SALE section and love so many items! I can't believe this amazing mark down! I'm definitely making a long list. So far on my list I have the Fashionista "Zig Zag" Jacket, the Alice & Trixie "Becky" Dress, and the Susana Monaco "Crawford" Top which I have had my eye on forever!
I can't pass up all these great prices!
