Unfashionably Late To Mortgage Class

First - a HUGE congratulations to Amanda! The picture of Emily and Casey makes my heart melt - they have no idea, but they are going to be best friends when they grow up. Too cute!

Also - thank you girls for the excellent suggestions on what I should wear to the event next week! I'm thinking I should buy them all, because you never know when events like this are going to come up. It's always a good idea to have something on standby!

And on that note, I'm thinking I need to buy this amazing Yoana Baraschi jacket. I went to "mortgage class" this morning (please do not laugh!) and of course woke up late, in a panic. I threw on the first thing I could find in my closet, but I really could have used a great go-to jacket to throw on over a tank and jeans. When I got home, I of course went to JLamore.com to check out the jacket selection - there are so many that would be have been perfect this morning. I think everyone should have a cute blazer like this one, in case of emergency!

Last Minute Outfit!

Having a bit of a panic attack here - just found out I am invited to a black tie event (which my boss is also attending) a week from tonight! I literally have nothing to wear that coworkers have not already seen me in - I need some help girls! I want to stand out and look nice, but still come off as conservative and professional. What about this silver dress by Rhys Dwfen? Maybe with a black wrap and black pumps? It's definitely sophisticated - and I could get lots of wear out of it (I love having an excuse to shop)!

Thoughts? Recommendations?

Taste of Spring

It was 70 degrees today in Washington DC - absolutely beautiful! I was out walking around the city this morning, and was actually HOT for the first time in a long time!

Now that I'm thinking spring, I'm thinking spring wardrobe. One of my first purchases of the season were these adorable green Bermuda Shorts by Billy Blues. They are flattering, and are basic enough to be paired with just about any top - especially bikini tops!

I just wish I could wear them to work... maybe I need to become a lifeguard :)

Travel 102

Caitlin - I loved your travel tips in your "travel 101" post! Especially the part about drinking enough water - it's harder to do now that you can't bring your own past the security check, but it is definitely worth buying some once you get to your gate - your skin will thank you later :)

Also especially important was your "dress for success" tip - I have TWO good friends that have landed job interviews after sitting next to executives on a flight. I would recommend a comfortable yet professional-looking sweater, like this one by Urchin. Dressed up with some beautiful accessories like these earrings from M.A.G. Gems, you are sure to look like first class material. Never hurts to have a resume in your carry-on either, just in case!
